Appointments

stethescope_on_calendarAll consultations are by appointment only.

To make an appointment telephone our reception on 657300 and choose option 1, or call in to the surgery.

We hold surgeries every morning and afternoon and these are available for routine appointments. You can request to see any doctor, but there may be a wait for a specific doctor at various times.

Routine appointments with a doctor can be booked up to 2 weeks ahead, and nursing appointments up to 4 weeks or more ahead.

However if you have become poorly and need to seen that day, please contact us as soon as possible after 8.30am and you will be given an urgent appointment with a doctor for later that day. These are short five minute appointments and may not be with the doctor of your choice as they are divided equally between the doctors on duty.

Please note that the doctors prefer to only discuss one problem per appointment. This is to try and ensure that the surgeries run to time, and that nothing is overlooked by discussing too many problems in one appointment.

You may be offered a telephone consultation with the doctor if there are no appointments available. This may be a very appropriate and convenient way of dealing with your problem.

It is very important that you contact the surgery to cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend

Each week patients let us down by failing to turn up for their appointment.

This is unfair to all our patients, as others may have been turned away. It also wastes the valuable time of the doctors and nurses.  Please give us as much notice as possible if you cannot attend so that we have the opportunity to offer the appointment to another patient.

If patients repeatedly fail to attend they will be sent a letter warning them that this is not acceptable. If they still fail to attend after receiving the letter, they may be asked to find another surgery who is willing to care for them.

Reception

When you telephone or call in to the surgery the team will assist you by providing the best service they can. They may need to ask you some questions to determine which type of appointment you will need, or to leave a clear and accurate message for the doctors.
