consultations are by appointment only.
Appointments
To make an appointment for either surgery, telephone our reception on 657300, or call in to the surgery.
We
hold surgeries every morning during the week, every afternoon except
Wednesday, and Monday evenings (excluding Bank Holidays). You can request to see any doctor, but there may be a wait
for a specific doctor at various times. Urgent cases will be seen on
the same day but not necessarily with the doctor of your choice.
Telephone
consultations
You may be offered a telephone consultation with the doctor
if there are no appointments available. This may be a very appropriate
and convenient way of dealing with your problem.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT THE SURGERY TO CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND
Each
week patients let us down by failing to turn up for their appointment.
This
is unfair to all our patients, as others may have been turned away.
It also wastes the valuable time of the doctors and nurses.
Please give us as much notice as possible if you cannot attend so that
we have the opportunity to offer the appointment to another patient.
When
we are closed
Outside surgery hours the duty doctor can be contacted by telephoning
01253 305895.
For
advice 24 hours a day, you may wish to contact NHS Direct on
0845 4647
Emergencies
If the problem is a true emergency such as chest pain etc, do not delay,
dial 999 for an ambulance.
Walk-in Centre
This is situated at 26 Talbot
Road Blackpool (close to Yates Wine Lodge).
Home
Visits
If you are physically housebound or so ill that you are incapable of
coming to the surgery and need a doctor to visit you at home, please
telephone the surgery on 657300
preferably before 10.30am.
We respectfully
request that if you are able to go out at all, then we would expect
you to come into the surgery to see the doctor. Home visits are very
time consuming and we have more equipment and resources at the surgery
to deal with any eventuality, which may arise.
