Clinics & Services
Family Planning
A comprehensive service is available by appointment with the doctors or practice nurses. The fitting of coils is done by special arrangement - please enquire. The 'morning after' pill is available by appointment with a doctor, and if required, this should be made clear to the reception team, to ensure a same day appointment.
Automated Blood Pressure checks
We have an automatic Blood Pressure machine so that our patients can check their blood pressure when they come to the surgery, either for an appointment or on an ad hoc basis. Please take the printed slip in to your appointment with the doctor or nurse or give it to the receptionist who will ensure that it is entered on your records. The machine is situated next to the reception desk.
If you have been rushing or feel breathless when you arrive, please sit down for a few minutes before using the machine. It is important to follow the instructions, as for instance the correct positioning of your arm in the machine is necessary for an accurate reading to be achieved.
Cervical Smears
We advise all women aged 25-65 to have regular smear tests, by appointment with the practice nurse or a doctor.
Minor Surgery
We carry out various procedures by appointment with a doctor.
Vaccinations & Immunisations
We recommend that your children are fully immunised against all the childhood diseases. Children's vaccinations are by appointment on Thursday afternoons with the Health Visitors.
For routine purposes, an appointment should be made with a practice nurse.
For travel purposes you need to complete a travel vaccination form and when the nurse has checked your requirements you will be asked to make an appointment with her. We are a registered Yellow Fever Centre, and can vaccinate travellers irrespective of whether they are registered with our practice. We also provide full travel health advice especially regarding prevention of malaria infection.
The form can be collected from the reception desk or you can complete it online using this website.
